Avoid Bowling Negativity

Between the physical aspect of bowling and the mental aspect, it’s the mental aspect that can sometimes be more challenging to overcome. The more competitive you get the more important your thought process is.

Maintaining a positive attitude is one of the most important aspect to the game. Beating yourself up with thoughts like, “I stink,” “I’m blowing it,” “I’ll never get a strike” probably won’t help you turn your game around for the positive. There’s a time and place to critique yourself but during a game or practice is not the time.

If you feel yourself becoming overly negative take a step back and find something positive that you did. With each approach continue to look for positives. Talk to yourself as if you were your own partner or friend.
